Our Strategic Advantage
AHF's unique status as a not-for-profit real estate developer is a significant asset in the realm of market-based real estate, offering communities a trusted liaison while delivering financial returns to equity partners.
  Approvals
As the public face of a development team, AHF is a trusted entity within the community. Bringing a track record of thoughtful and successful projects opens a dialogue with civic leaders that can establish rewarding working relationships. Through our open and collaborative process, AHF is able to work with municipalities to gain project approvals and return community benefits at the same time.
  Funding
AHF, as a non-profit organization, can leverage funds inaccessible to for-profit developers, such as non-profit targeted public funds, grants and charitable contributions. For example, AHF was the recipient of a multi-million dollar earmark from the State of Massachusetts for the Washington Mills Building No 1 project that enabled the project to bridge state historic tax credit allocations and proceed to construction on schedule. Also, the Hamilton Canal Lofts project was awarded a $250,000 matching grant from the prestigious, nationally competitive Save America's Treasures program for the historic preservation of 165 Jackson Street.
  Visibility
AHF works with local stakeholders from the outset of each project to understand each community's unique needs and aspirations. Unlike cookie-cutter development plans, AHF's initiatives are rooted in the community, resulting in realistic projects with true impact. Therefore, our mission-driven projects typically receive a breadth of community support that makes them stand out amongst the competition.

AHF is able to serve as a trusted liaison with the community while delivering financial returns to equity partners.
