AHF was pleased to receive two preservation awards this spring for Washington Mills Building No.1 in Lawrence and the Baird and Benton Building in Lee. Both projects received the Paul E. Tsongas Award from Preservation Massachusetts for their exemplary use of the Massachusetts State Historic Tax Credit Program. Washington Mills, one of AHF’s development projects, is a thriving mill conversion in Lawrence that is now home to 155 units of residential housing. Along with being the co-developer with the Banc of America CDC, AHF provided historic tax credit consulting services to the project. In Lee, AHF was part of the development team that transformed a mostly vacant Main Street property into the new headquarters for the College Internship Program, an innovative organization that provides college and career support to students with Asperger’s and learning differences.
