AHF has been working with Allegrone Companies since 2011 when the Pittsfield-based contractor/developer carried out their first downtown, market-rate housing and retail rehab project at the Howard Building in Pittsfield. Allegrone is poised to deliver another 29 units of housing with their third historic rehabilitation project at the Wright and adjacent Jim’s House of Shoes Buildings, furthering Pittsfield’s revitalization efforts and re-activating this long dormant block with new retail uses as well.

Built in 1898 as a home furnishings store, the Wright and Jim’s House of Shoes Buildings have been vacant and underutilized for years. AHF is assisting Allegrone Companies with accessing both State and Federal Historic Tax Credits, and also providing ongoing consulting services to secure additional funding. Most recently, AHF was successful in helping to access grant funding for the project from Mass Development’s Underutilized Properties Program.

Let’s work together.
